Rack & Ration is a hunting card game for 2–5 players. You and your friends are rival hunters navigating a rugged, unpredictable wilderness over a grueling 20-round year. Starting in the Spring with nothing but a Beginner Rifle and a couple of bullets, you must harvest small game to survive, trade Meat and Fur for better gear, and eventually track down the most dangerous predators in the mountains.
Your goal is to be declared Master Hunter by finishing the Winter season with the most Trophy Points.
Phase 1, The Armory & Camp: upgrade your rifle, buy Supply Cards, buy Bullets, and equip Gear. Phase 2, The Hunt: choose a target, load your weapon and take the shot. You may also skip Camp entirely for a free action.
Small game is free to hunt. But if you shoot a Forest or Mountain animal — collectively called Trophy Animals — the law gets involved. Reveal a matching tag for a +2 bonus. Hunt one without a tag and the trophy counts as poached, and the Warden can take it off your wall at any time.
